What glass thickness is used for a glass railing?
We supply 10, 12, 16 and 18 mm options. The final thickness depends on panel height, span, fixing method and the load the railing must carry, so it is confirmed after the site and system are reviewed.
Tempered or laminated glass — which should I choose for a railing?
Tempered glass is designed to break into small granules if it fails. Laminated glass uses an interlayer that helps keep broken fragments together and can maintain a barrier for longer. For locations protecting a significant drop, laminated glass is often preferred, subject to the railing system and project requirements.
Do you install frameless glass railing for staircases?
Yes. Frameless staircase glass can be installed with base channels, standoffs or other minimal fixing systems. The suitable method depends on the stair geometry, substrate and the visual finish you want.
Can you install glass fencing around a swimming pool?
Yes. Pool glass can include frameless fixed panels, stainless-steel spigots and access gates. Panel height, spacing and gate hardware should follow the requirements that apply to the property or community.
Does hardware corrode around a pool?
Poolside hardware is exposed to moisture, chlorinated water and, in coastal areas, salt in the air. That makes the hardware grade and maintenance more important than for an indoor staircase, so the system is selected around the installation environment.
Can the hardware be black instead of stainless steel?
Yes. Stainless, black and other custom finishes are available for many spigot, standoff, channel and clamp systems. For exterior installations, we also consider how the selected finish will perform in the environment.
Do you work outside Dubai?
Yes. Blue Lake installs glass railing across the UAE, including Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. Site access and measurement arrangements are confirmed when the project is booked.
What warranty do you provide?
Blue Lake's standard warranty covers glass and hardware for one year.
